PEER SUPPORT
Become a Peer Support Specialist
Poetry for Personal Power offers and supports a variety of opportunities to receive training for this career path. However, before jumping into training, we want you, the peer, to seriously consider how you will answer this question:

Am I at a place in my own recovery to be a help to another person without harming myself?

Whether your answer to the above question is yes or no we welcome you to participate in the training. Your answer to this question only shapes your goals for the knowledge that you obtain. If you are not sure how to answer this question at this time, that is okay as well. The training that we suggest and offer will help to not only teach core concepts of Peer Support but also help potential Peer Support Specialists make these critical decisions. We encourage lay individuals to also take these courses. The more people that are equipped with recovery knowledge, the stronger the community will be.
